We were called on by longtime friends to help create their new home in the suburbs after living in New York City for several years. With a young toddler and a second on the way, ensuring everything was family-friendly was a key driver in many decisions. Simultaneously, the couple wanted a home where hosting was made easy and the color palette was timeless. The husband, who grew up in Paris, wanted a French-inspired look and the wife was more comfortable with the laid-back ease of a California style home. Where we landed was somewhere in between that felt perfectly appropriate to the home and the young family’s lifestyle.
